The Mater Misericordiae Hospital has launched a pilot aimed at reducing the time it takes for our patients to receive specialised care from our consultants, therapists and nurses from different technical backgrounds. The intent of telemedicine is to improve patient diagnosis, therapy, training and education

The telemedicine platform is fully HIPPA and POPI compliant for protection of patient information. HIPPA is the United States legislation that provides data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical information

POPI is the South African Act that protects the collecting, processing, storing and sharing of someone's personal information

All patient information will be handled according to the Kenyan Data Protection Act

HOME BASED CARE PROGRAM


The World Health Organisation(WHO) recommends that all laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 be isolated and cared for in a health care facility. However, priority is given to those that have poor outcome including severe symptoms, critical or chronic illness. WHO further recommends safe home-based isolation and care

Mater Misericordiae Hospital will be providing home-based care follow up to our clients with COVID-19 infection

We will have a doctor, counsellor and other healthcare providers calling the patient periodically to ensure proper home management which will be included in the package
