Welcome to the Mater hospital physiotherapy department where we offer a hands on approach to help achieve your goals in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Our mission is to deliver a dynamic and quality physiotherapy treatment practice by providing our patients with physiotherapy services of excellence, whilst creating an optimal environment for staff and clients.

The physiotherapy department is equipped with modern electrotherapy machines and a state of the art physiotherapy gym equipment. Our qualified and experienced physiotherapists/occupation therapists use their knowledge and skills to assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions. Physiotherapy being a holistic approach to healthcare, plays a vital part in pain relief, healing and rehabilitation in most medical and surgical conditions.

Our services at the mater hospital are:

• Musculoskeletal rehabilitation ( low back pain, subacromial impingements, arthritis, rehabilitation post fractures )
• Neuro-rehabilitation ( stroke, spinal cord injuries, Parkinsonism, multiple sclerosis )
• Cardiovascular rehabilitation ( pre and post-operative cardiac rehabilitation )
• Chest physiotherapy ( asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic fibrosis)
• Sports rehabilitation ( ACL rupture, tennis elbow soft tissue injuries, golfers elbow )
• Ante-natal exercises ( low impact aerobic exercises)
• Occupational therapy
• Manual therapy and modalities application ( Myofascial release, cryotherapy, heat therapy, TENS, Ultra sound, SWD, Traction unit, Massager)
• Therapeutic exercises, with the aid of Gymnastic equipment ( Treadmill, static bicycles, multi hand gym )
• Full range of products (sports medical supports, orthopedic bracing, rehabilitation products, maternity supports, post surgery supports)

Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 7.00am to 6.00pm and Saturday 8.00am to 4.00pm
