The hospital is seeking committed and self-driven professionals to fill the following positions:

1. SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS:

Reporting to the IT Manager the successful candidates duties will include to:

• Manage and develop the HIMS in order to achieve efficient usage of the application, and ensure that accurate and timely reports are produced by the users.
• Sort out user problems (Software and Hardware) as presented by users at the IT Help Desk.
• Carry out Daily, Weekly and Monthly backups for the Payroll and HR. systems, and ensure that the backup media are kept in safe custody as required.
• Assist in carrying out Daily and Monthly backups for other software applications in use at the hospital as may be assigned to you by the IT Manager.
• Implementation of approved HMIS job requests as per the users’ requirements.
• Organize and facilitate training for the Lifeline system to users according to the users’ needs.
• Assist in developing training materials, smartcard application, and basic computer usage.
• Cover weekends, public holidays and after-office hours’ shifts as scheduled by the IT Manager.
• Install Operating Systems and other software applications on servers and computers as required by the users.

Key Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Programing skills and certification in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery and MySQL/MS-SQL database operations
• Experience in PHP framework like Laravel, Symfony or CodeIgnitor Red Hat/CENTOS
• Knowledge of Microsoft packages.
• Linux certification will be an added advantage.
• Ability to communicate with clients, colleagues and management to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
• A logical, analytical and creative approach to problems solving
• Thoroughness and attention to details
• Ability to work both in a team and alone with minimum supervision, and to manage own workload
• Ability to manage ICT Helpdesk
• Over 3 years’ working experience in a busy software development environment

2. SENIOR TUTOR & CO-ORDINATOR – MIDWIFERY PROGRAMME
Reporting to the Director Nursing Education the successful candidate will be expected to build capacity of health workers in the hospital to provide teaching and implement competency based learning in line with the Nursing Council of Kenya midwifery curriculum.
Responsibilities will include:
• Theoretical and clinical instructions of students to ensure mastery of skills in midwifery
• Monitor students’ performance to maintain institutional standards.
• Offer guidance and counseling to promote high level of personal integrity, team spirit and outstanding work ethics.
• Develop and coordinate extra curriculum activities for students.
• Ensure proper management of consumables to ensure efficient use and in a cost effective manner.
• Arrange students’ placement and assessment.

Key Requirements and Qualifications:

• Diploma as Kenya Registered Nurse/Midwife or BSN and MSc. In Midwifery.
• At least 5 years’ experience as a Tutor with 2 years in similar position.
• Good planning, training delivery, report writing, mentoring and assessment skills.
