The Mater Misericordiae Hospital, a leading Health Care provider is seeking to fill the following positions at the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing.


CRITICAL CARE TUTOR


Position Summary

To deliver quality teaching to students and produce qualified professional nurses in Critical Care.


Main Duties

  • Provide theoretical and clinical instructions of students to ensure mastery of skills
  • Monitor students’ performance to maintain institutional standards
  • Develop and review curriculum in line with Nursing Council requirements
  • Conduct tests for (theory and practical) and evaluation of student’s assignment and performance
  • Maintains clinical capability via regular clinical practice and take responsibility for own professional development
  • Participate in quality programs, clinical audit and research
  • Compile examination questions and may also be invited to mark national examinations
  • Ensure proper management of consumables to maximize efficiency and cost control
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the Principal or Senior Tutor in the interest of education

Required Qualifications for the Position


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Must have a higher Diploma in Critical Care Nursing
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years working experience as a Tutor
  • Current practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya
  • Computer Literacy

Position Summary

Main Duties

  • Provide theoretical and clinical instructions of students to ensure mastery of skills
  • Monitor students’ performance to maintain institutional standards
  • Responsible for imparting relevant knowledge to the students according to set curriculum
  • Preparing teaching materials and implementing it under guidance of the Senior Tutor
  • Compile examination questions and may also be invited to mark national examinations
  • Develop and review curriculum in line with Nursing Council requirements
  • Offer guidance and counselling to promote personal integrity, team spirit and outstanding work standards
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the Principal or Senior Tutor in the interest of education

Required Qualifications for the Position


  • Diploma in KRN/KRCHN or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Must have a higher Diploma in Nephrology Nursing
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years working experience post nephrology training
  • Current practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya
  • Computer literacy

The Mater Misericordiae Hospital, a leading Health Care provider is seeking to fill the following position.


AIR CONDITIONING & REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN


Position Summary

Reporting to the Projects and Maintenance Manager, the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician shall be responsible for ensuring the Hospital Air Conditioners and Fridges/Cooling systems are well maintained, and in serviceable condition.


Main Duties

  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance on all hospital air conditioners and fridges/cooling systems to ensure they are in serviceable condition
  • Undertake basic repairs of all Air Conditioners and Fridges defects reported daily and during inspection such as UPS, & theatre air conditioners
  • Carry out periodic checks and inspections of all hospital Air Conditioners and Fridges and Generator to establish all repairs and maintenance required
  • Recommend materials and supplies for requisition within the workshop stores necessary for efficient delivery of services
  • Ensure tidiness and safety of workstations and sites within the hospital
  • Checking availability of medical gases within hospital & replacing them as necessary

Required Qualifications for the Position


  • Diploma in Electrical engineering /Refrigeration & air conditioning
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge on all HVAC systems and basic electrical and mechanical works
