The Mater Hospital is seeking to fill the above position. Reporting to the Director of medical services, the successful candidate will be responsible for;
Attend to antenatal mothers, review reports and conduct safe deliveries.
Undertaking clinical procedures and examinations.
Carrying out ward rounds with Consultants.
Consulting on cases that the Senior House Officers may require guidance.
Oversee the running of the department.
Assist management in drawing up and implementation of policies and procedures for the department
Advising and guiding management on procurement of equipment and supplies for the department.
Coaching and mentoring of Senior House Officers.
Oversee the running of the Well Woman and Well Baby Clinics
Supervision of Senior House Officers and Elective Students
Ensure that Hospital policies and administrative regulations are well known and understood by staff
Liaise with HR & Talent Development to ensure proper staffing levels at all times.
Conduct CPDs to ensure high standards of competency and efficiency in the department at all times
Ensures that patients are given utmost attention and care at all times
Make follow up on complaints and any concerns raised by patients
Conduct surgeries elective or emergencies.
Minimum Requirements for the position
Critical Care Training
Health Management Systems
Registered with KMPDB
Minimum 6 years as a Senior House Officer
3 years in a similar position
Work related skills
Sound diagnostic skill and judgment
Counseling and mentoring skills
Ability to plan and organize work well
Keeps well informed on contemporary issues in medicine.
Good customer care skills
Ability to work under pressure
High standards of personal integrity
Display sensitivity to patient needs
